Tony Blair Faith Foundation, Faiths Act Fellows – The Unity Walk has enjoyed new collaboration with the Tony Blair Faith Foundation’s Faiths Act Fellows assigned to Washington, DC. Following their inaugural year-long fellowship, the Unity Walk stands to inherit and continue their monthly forum geared towards developing interfaith youth leaders.
Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC) – For the past two years, the Unity Walk’s Youth Service Initiative has worked closely with the IFYC team to develop meaningful interfaith youth dialogue and service opportunities. Among other support, IFYC has prepared curricula for our MLK service projects, encouraging youth from all faiths to examine what calls them to serve, as well as the legacy of Dr. King and environmental stewardship. Going forward, the Unity Walk would like to pursue interfaith leadership training opportunities for local high school-aged youth.
Institute for Faith and Service – The Institute for Faith and Service serves as a leading resource for the local and national interfaith movement. They have supported our Youth Service Initiative through mini-grants for MLK Day service activities as well as the Global Youth Service Days/Days of Interfaith Youth Service, held each spring. The Unity Walk has also acted as a partner for recent initiatives, such as the Serve DC fall Emergency Preparedness conference geared towards local faith communities.
InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington (IFC) – Since the inception of the Unity Walk, the InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington has been a key partner, contributing to the design of the annual Unity Walk event, serving as a member of the Steering Committee. Year-round, the Unity Walk joins the IFC on many interfaith initiatives and discussions.
ML Resources – Reach for Peace – In the fall of 2009, the Unity Walk first partnered with ML Resources Social Vision to launch “Reach for Peace” an international interfaith youth service initiative. This summer, the Unity Walk is proud to partner to launch the Interfaith Youth Action Group – a year round leadership development initiative for interfaith youth.
United Religions Initiative (URI) – In 2010, the Unity Walk officially signed on as a Multi-Regional Cooperation Circle in hopes of connecting with the vast international network of CC’s around the world. Ultimately, the Unity Walk would like to expand to key international locations, where the impact of the Unity Walk would be most beneficial.
